KevCore 29

KevCore 29 is a high quality double braid made of prestretched high tenacity polyester for the outer braid and Kevlar® 29 (aramid fibre) for the inner braided core, a construction that gives it high tensile strength with very low elongation.

The 16/24 spindle processing with counter-balanced anti-twist twisting of both the outer sock and the inner braided core makes it splicable with medium difficulty, guarantees high abrasion resistance and keeps it soft and manageable even after intensive and prolonged use.

Available in diameters from 1.5 to 6 mm, this semi-submersible double braid has breaking strengths ranging from 80 kg for the thinnest diameter to 950 kg for the largest diameter.

The high tenacity polyester outer sock allows for a long service life and excellent weather resistance.

It is supplied in 100-metre flanged reels.

The KevCore 29 has a workmanship that makes it soft, easy to handle and at the same time provides high toughness, very low elongation and high abrasion resistance to meet a variety of requirements in different fields of application.

The different diameters and the three bright colours in which it is produced (white with blue stripes, blue with black stripes and black with red stripes) make it ideal in the nautical sector as a sheet and manoeuvring halyard for cruising and racing yachts.

In thinner diameters it is used as speargun line.

Kevlar® 29, being an aramid fibre, guarantees high fire resistance (thermal decomposition takes place between 427 °C and 482 °C), moreover, it does not yield when subjected to load and for this particular characteristic it is indicated in the industrial sector for expressly static uses and fire-fighting equipment.
